The Huntington Beach City School District is a participant in the Orange County Department of Education (OCDE) initiative: "The Arts Advantage". This County-wide program seeks to support and improve arts education in our schools.
Arts education continues to be a high priority within HBCSD and a focused HBCSD Arts Education Month occurs each year. In order to ensure that all students in grades K-8 receives a high quality, comprehensive arts education program, this resolution, and several arts priority goals have been established to guide and focus our work in this important curricular area. Through this commitment, we share publicly our recognition of the role that the arts and art education play in preparing our students for a successful future in alignment with our District Mission Statement.
Visual and Performing Arts Goals 2015-18
The adoption of the 2015-18 Arts Priority Goals on March 10, 2015 will serve as the basis for further defining, articulating, and aligning the arts instructional program throughout the District.
