The Huntington Beach City School District COVID-19 Prevention Plan has been prepared to address the most recent California Department of Public Health (CDPH) framework (January 14, 2021). The updated framework largely applies to schools and districts that are not yet open for in-person instruction.
HBCSD previously met or exceeded all CDPH requirements to reopen our schools in October 2020. HBCSD published the HBCSD/CDPH Phase 2 COVID-19 Health & Safety Reference (October 23, 2020) to align with the recommendations and guidance from CDPH, which also drew references upon guidance and information provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Orange County Health Care Agency (OCHCA). The information provided within this COVID-19 Prevention Program supports the continuing efforts to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 at all school sites and district work locations while continuing to implement previous mitigation plans which align with current recommendations. As guidance from our local public health agency evolves, and implementation of safety measures evolves, additional updates will be made as required.
