The Huntington Beach City School District is committed to making policy and financial decisions that enable the district to provide quality educational programs and services to its community; and during the recent recession, the Huntington Beach City School District was forced to reduce its budget, eliminate positions, and trim vital student services.
Passage of Proposition 30 in 2012 helped increase state revenues, provided a significant boost to the Huntington Beach City School District, and allowed for the restoration of classes and services. The revenues from Proposition 30 will decline after 2016 and will disappear completely after 2018. Proposition 55 would extend Proposition 30’s temporary income tax rates for an additional 12 years and allow the district to continue offering its current programs and services.
