Parking Lot Closures

We close our lots to all but bus traffic during student arrivals and departures by bus. Students crossing Yellowstone Drive must use the crosswalk by the portable classrooms. Students may also enter our campus from the back playground area by the park.

*New - Yellowstone now has city signs designating a 3 minute drop off zone during school hours on the curb area between the two driveways.

Peanut Allergies

Dear Parents,

Several students have moderate to severe allergies to peanuts and other nut oils. In order to provide a safe environment for all of our children, we are asking that you do not send snacks and/or lunch items that contain nuts or nut oils. Thank you for your cooperation in helping to keep ALL of our children healthy and happy!

School Supply List

Many parents have asked us to provide a shopping list of school supplies prior to the start of school. The grade level teachers have designed a preliminary optional supply list that your child may bring on the first day of school (9/2/09) if he/she chooses.

Principal's Message

Upon the subject of education, not presuming to dictate any plan or system respecting it, I can only say that I view it as the most important subject which we as a people may be engaged in.
-- Abraham Lincoln

As we embark on the 2009-2010 school year, I would like to welcome some talented teachers to our staff. Caryn Chalabian, formerly at Huntington Seacliff School, Amy Volk, formerly a GATE teacher at Peterson School and Julie Gray, an experienced HBCSD teacher who is returning from teaching in Germany. Their teaching experience and positive attitudes will only serve to enhance the learning experience at Hawes!
